it’s so hard to be profitable right now on the cow business you have to have a diversified operation or you just won’t make it in agriculture and you have to think outside of the box a little bit you know just because your neighbor runs a cowf operation and it works for them their land may be paid for but us we’re trying to pay for our land and at the end of the day when we were weaning Cavs and selling caves it was like Hey we’re just breaking even it’s not generating any income so we went to what I knew running yearand we we’d buy truckloads of what we call cut Bulls you know castrate them get them healed up and then ship them to the feed yard we did that for a little while then we started doing what we do now where we trade some replacement females so like right now we’ve got a handful of replacement heers out here that are Kevin and we’re just going to sell them as pairs we’re going to roll them up a few hundred ahead and make a little money and move on down the road when now our grass is starting to go dormant we’ll just let it sit phow for the rest of the winter and then in the spring we’ll heavy stock it and take advantage of the grass then

This is why we went to Registered Herefords instead of staying in the commercial market. Swapped over to quality genetics instead of quantity. With that said even the commercial market in our area is booming right now.
Learn to ranch, our ranch is cow calf and it’s 100% profit. They just eat grass and then we sell the calves, the expense per calf is just $10 for the tags
Regenerative Farming. Y’all doing the same old shit when there’s a better way. No wonder you’re struggling.
That's so smart…where God guides he provides…wisdom ❤
Basically, when the land is paid off, never ever take out a loan on the land.
Another thing……the Government is trying to Shut the Farmers 🚜 and Ranchers down, and Oregon is leading the way.
The World Bank wants American Farms to be Shut down by 2030.
Beef at all time highs…ok.
Did he say castrate them, let them heal, then send them to the feed yard? Why would you castrate them?
If you’re not profitable right now in the cow business with the prices at this high rate. You’re not only stupid, but it’s a good thing breathing is an involuntary action. Come on people this is ridiculous. Price of hay and inputs is low. Sell prices are outrageously high. Quit complaining and figure your shit out. It’s probably like normal, you just spent to much on that 50 to 75 thousand dollar side-by-side and all the other stuff your Dad and Grandpa didn’t need. Quit complaining, tighten your belt and just go to work.😊
At $3.40 a pound you can't make money?
I here that from people making money who has cows and loose money i ant buying that
Americas just in a bad spot right now
Yeeeeeeee hawwww!!
Lol
You are interviewing a man with a cash cow…..rentals and dry cleaning.
Erica talking out of ass.
I'm a cow calf man. If things were any better I couldn't stand it . A bad manager could make money now.
It’s literally 100 dollars for steak right now!
What’s so hard about it?

I grew up on a family dairy farm I. The 70’s and 80s, and it was brutal. It was unaffordable.
Don’t pay sale barn commissions. Keep your hard-earned money where it belongs — in your pocket. Advertise your cattle on Herd Yard! Your wife will thank you!
Truth is that cattle is dying, almost dead and you cant make much as the pioneers had.
You need to rotational graze them like Joel salatin.
Are you happy that donald trump is pushing buying beef from argentina?
Are you also happy that he is pushing to give argentina forty billion dollars?
Did you vote for Donald Trump?
If so you voted for that.
Zero f*cks given for the welfare queens in the livestock community. The top 10,000 livestock feeding operations received a total of $12.1 billion, an average of $1.2 million per operation
The top 20 livestock operations received a total of $219.3 million, an average of $11 million per operation
Bwhahahah. Fools that have been entrusted with a farm that has been in their family for generations are going to lose it all because they could not be bothered to actually look at what the party agenda was and the direction it was going to take. Instead they simply took the easier route of using hate as their motivator and voted for a New York real estate shyster. Their kids and grandkids will remember the dad/grandfather not as the head of the family…..but as the fool that lost it all……….Bwhahahah
Great they ARE killing us! D:
We are all just getting by. No one makes profits except the billionaire CEOs. They report record profits every year while their workers get paid nothing. Welcome to the world run by the wealthy. Farmers are struggling just like the rest of us!
$2500 feeders.. it's impossible to make a profit.. oh look here comes my $100,000 new pickup…
This is why dairy is much more profitable
I paid $27/lb today for rib eye today. How can the ranchers not make money?
Hey, if you haven't made any money on a cow/calf operation in the last two years, QUIT now. Your spending must be out of control.
If you’re not making money with this market you need to move to the city
