“More time in the saddle” is the only way to improve. Go out three days a week. Sat/Sun and Wednesday.

Get on Strava and make a segment then you can track your times and try to improve

To get more endurance you need to ride often.
Your photos make me sure miss desert riding!

Improve what? Some numbers? Are you having fun?

Ride at least twice a week. Three times is better.

Mannn, sometimes I really do miss riding in the Chihuahuan Desert…
Keep riding (what I’m assuming is) Lost Dog if it’s in your backyard and then maybe mix it up with the Dona Anas or east side trails. Chihuahuan single track is not for the faint of heart, very very difficult to find flow and everything is so sharp/loose.
I’ve lived/ridden all over the United States and can confidently say that if you can handle the cross country riding in the borderplex you’ll be in good shape anywhere. There are pretty active communities in your area and I’m sure some of those guys would be happy to give you tips.

Only commenting to say i miss riding in El Chuco and heading straight to eat at El Cometa. But yeah keep riding is the only answer to improve.
Edit. Forgot to mention, reach out to the mtb community on Facebook out there for group rides, everyone is helpful and can help you figure out any improvement you might need

Dial in your tire pressure to your body weight (hint: probably less).
Keep your feet/pedals flat through rock sections so you don’t pedal strike. Drop your heels to put more weight towards the back of the bike.
When you are riding you dont want to look right in front of your tire, and you don’t want to be looking a mile down the trail. Find a happy medium.

hell yeah, i spy a trek roscoe – i started on the same bike, still have it, still love it. Such a nible and fun bike to rip on.
Tbh the way i improved was to ride more, and more importantly build up muscle required for riding. You could have the best technique engrained into your brain, but if your body cant execute it then you arent gonna have a good time. Also hard to ride with good technique when you are gassed out.

If youre looking for little upgrade maybe try some pedals that have a little better grip to them and a shoe meant for flat pedals. Also stated above play with tire pressure. Most people ride too high pressure and would benefit from some softer tires.
