  1. I rode home from downtown around 6 last night. Those streets were rough! I didn’t realize Elliott biked too. Very cool.

ETA: didn’t realize that this was r/bikecommuting and not r/cyclingmsp

Love to see this, really appreciate the bike-friendliness of our local government. I’m also a City of Minneapolis employee and biked home around 730 across the 3rd Ave bridge. It was a strenuous ride, but beautiful!

‘Greatful to have an escort up Jonson as it was getting plowed’.

I honestly had to do a double take on this post before realizing it was not a NSFW meme.

  4. I tried my new studded tires out for the first time yesterday (newer e-bike commuter, trying to drive my car less). I gave up after a few blocks and took Metro Transit home lol. I even wiped out on the way to the bus stop 😭.

Everyone should get involved in local politics. Every voice matters when there’s only a dozen people in the room.

  6. What I like about the Twin Cities in general is many areas do take plowing the bike lanes seriously. I live just west of Minneapolis and can generally bike anywhere because the trails usually get plowed the same day as the streets. I don’t even really like winter that much but I still enjoy cycling and not going to let snow stop that. I even was able to call St. Louis Park last winter because part of the Greenway wasn’t plowed and they called back saying it’ll be plowed then on. To their credit, that part of the Greenway had just been completed and their maps weren’t updated to show that. They did keep their part of the Greenway cleared though.

  7. Y’all have it so good up there! I follow a lot of bike commuters/advocates on Bluesky and not surprisingly, many of them are from your area!

  8. Meanwhile in Saint Paul they act like cleaning less than half of the car lanes and none of the bike infrastructure all winter long is perfectly reasonable.
