getting your chain tension right is a bit of a Goldilocks Affair too loose too tight ah just right start by hand and Loosely align the wheel in the Dropout snug them down grab your wrenches this is your 15 pedal wrench essentially and you’re going to walk the wheel back towards you in the Dropout so you push the wheel to one side and snug down those bolts push it the other way snug down the other one and essentially you’re going to creep the wheel back until you got about a CER up down movement in the chain keep checking the wheel is perfectly aligned and I always finish with a small wrench to make sure I don’t overt talk it Chain’s good make sure it survives a push test and a shakee test remember this is your only way of stopping the bike so don’t this up

  1. Use a rubber doorstopper as a wedge between your seat tube and rear tire. It will get the chain to a good spot tension wise and help hold the rear wheel in place, giving you both hands to keep it straight in the frame and tighten axle nuts.

  2. I’m running 46×17 on my freewheel..doesn’t coast for shit…got a new euro bb with a chain and sprocket….any suggestions to make it faster please comment…don’t talk on me if I ride free…I can’t ride constantly where I’m at…I act like I’m on fixed gear lol..

  3. Been watching posts for half an hour now … every post contradicts the last one … Reckon I’ll just pay someone to tighten my fixed speed chain. I don’t remember this being this difficult when I was messing around with BMXs in the 80s
