Is it not an 8 bolt onto the crank arm? BB shouldn’t have any bearing on what chainring you can use…
A photo of the actual issue causing concern may be helpful.
Does the chainring bolt on to you crank arm correctly?
Does the crank arm still fit without interference?
Sorry. Should clarify. It’s an 8 bolt. Bolts directly to the crank, but when I went to put it all together, it made contact with the frame as if the dish was too much. Or shims weren’t enough. Or all of the above. Hence why I asked for advice from those who’ve had success with an install.
