  1. Riding east to west, I want to be on the west coast around September when the weather is milder and drier. Crossing the Montana Rockies in August is ideal. That timing also puts you in the desert around late September into October when temps start to moderate.

  2. June Id imagine. 1.5-2 months across the US so you’re crossing the Rockies in the summer while passes are open. Then down the west coast in mid August to early September. Then out to the desert mid to late September.

I wouldn’t rush it too fast down the west coast since it’ll likely be hot in August/Sept. but I wouldn’t want to go out into the desert in August or early September unless it’s a cool summer

  3. This is a tough one.

You don’t want to fry in the southwest but you can’t ride through some of the western mountains in the early spring.

I’d say probably start in the Northeast in very early May (even late April). That is the best time of year or conversely end up in the northeast in Sept- early October.

Do you have time line for how long you want to spend? Because that plays a role.
