I currently have this bike rack and plan on getting a basket to attach there. But I am worried because it is not completely flat I will have issues. Do you have any suggestions or comments there?

Depends on two measurements: the length of the.rack when Installed and the.distance between the upturn at thr back and the rear of your saddle.
Also, it depends on what you want to carry.
I don’t have a simple answer for you, but those are the parameters you would use to find your perfect basket
