Hoping someone can help as I am loosing my mind over this! Technically this is for an elliptical machine.. but I’m told I need a “22mm crank puller tool” to get the front disk off. This is all new to me so bear with me.. I took the 24mm bolt and washer off of this, and this is what I’m looking at. I’m told I need a 22mm x1 threads square type puller. I see those type tools on Amazon. What I’m seeing is that the tool would have male threads and would thread into the female threads on the crank arm. I have a bolt sticking straight out from the square middle.. how would a crank puller exactly work for this scenario? I ordered a Park tool CCP-22 crank puller but it is not making any sense to me since I have male threads sticking out. Thanks for any knowledge and info you have so I can get this apart!

  1. Where are you getting your information that says you need a crank puller? A crank puller removes the crank. Your crank is already removed. It looks like you’ll likely need some bottom bracket tool to remove what’s left, but hard to know which one since there are a ton of different standards.

  2. if the ccp-22 is the tool to use here, thread the outer shell part into the ring part then the middle part of the tool will push in the axle when tightened to remove the ring. no idea if that is what is needed here but that’s how I could envision that tool working in this scenario

You already have the crank off and won’t need a puller

I used to work for a shop that did fitness equipment repair too, back then most of the plastic shells were pretty easy to remove. From there you’ll be able to tell wat kinda bb tool you need
