Right now the Madone is on sale for $3200 CAD and the Cervelo is $3600 CAD. I have carbon wheels already to swap out for the alloy stock wheels. I plan on slowly collecting di2 parts over the winter as I find good deals. I currently race on an older Giant Propel but I'm looking for something that will handle the hilly terrain in my area, while also holding a fast pace in crits and fast group rides. Which would you choose?

  1. The Trek looks awesome but the Cervelo will be better for fit issues when it comes to the seatpost.
The new Trek sizing is a bit “weird” for a few people. Just test ride one.
And if you need the larger seatpost for the Trek, if you buy an xs, s or m, you need to buy a larger one for 400 Euros.

None? Both will be quite heavy, I don’t see it being much better then a propel, definitely not better enough to justify spending so much money. They’re less aero, still heavy, and mechanical shifting..

You mention that you won’t keep the wheels and plan on upgrading the group set to Di2 afterwards.. So why not buy a frameset a build it around that?
A QuickPro AR one, Tavelo Arrow, or Winspace T1550 would be miles better

  3. Neither, they’re both too heavy for how non-aero they are compared to proper aero bikes these days.

But if I had to pick, I would choose the Cervélo, because I like their color schemes better.
