In this video Friends, welcome to the Christmas capital of France — Strasbourg! And if you take a closer look at the sign, you’ll see proof of my words. If you think you’ve already seen plenty of Christmas towns and nothing can surprise you anymore, then you haven’t been to Strasbourg at this time of year! This is where the true Christmas magic lives! So switch on the subtitles, put on your Christmas hats, and let’s dive into the world of festive magic! In Strasbourg, everything you can possibly imagine gets dressed up for the holidays. They even came up with the idea of making New Year’s decorations out of flowers here! Some might think, “It’s winter — what flowers could there possibly be?” But for the people of Strasbourg and their imagination, that’s just one more challenge to embrace. Christmas fashion takes over houses, shops, cafés, restaurants, cathedrals and landmarks — everyone’s competing for the title of the brightest, cutest, and most “Instagrammable” festive look. Wow, the Strasbourg Cathedral really pops up beautifully among the buildings! That’s exactly where I’m heading. Strasbourg Cathedral is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture and one of the tallest in the world — its 142-meter spire was once the tallest structure in Europe. On the two squares that embrace the cathedral -Place de la Cathédrale & Place du Château – the markets make you feel as if you’re strolling right through a Christmas fairytale. Strasbourg is beautiful any time of year, but right now it looks as if someone lightly sprinkled it with Christmas magic. Pearls suit everyone — even the trendy boutiques! Here I am, walking through these beautifully dressed-up streets toward the Christmas market… It’s like tasting an aperitif before the main course. It’s already delightful, but you know the best part is still ahead! Oh, and this is the place you should visit at the end of the day — once you’ve seen everything and it’s time to celebrate an unforgettable day. Just imagine how the central Christmas tree must look when even the ordinary streets are decorated so amazingly! Like this video and subscribe to the channel – I really appreciate it! This will help me show you even more incredible places. I’m absolutely thrilled, overwhelmed with wonder, just like a child opening the most magical gift of their dreams! This little shop is clearly made to steal children’s hearts. Remember the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel? This little shop looks just like the gingerbread house from the story — sweet treats, colorful decorations, and the pure magic. Wow, the signs on this restaurant speak for themselves! I think decorator must be the most popular profession in Strasbourg! Are there people around you who do something similar? What do you think of the decorations in Strasbourg? The incredible Christmas atmosphere here is so strong that even a simple walk down the streets feels like part of the celebration. By the way, did you know that Strasbourg’s Christmas Market is the oldest in France, first held in 1570 under the name Christkindelsmärik. Strasbourg Cathedral truly seems to reach the sky — it makes your head spin just looking up at the top of its spire. Today, the celebration spreads across the entire historic center, with over 300 wooden chalets offering crafts, decorations, gifts, festive foods, and mulled wine. The Christmas little train in Strasbourg winds through the streets, jingling bells and spreading holiday cheer, making everyone feel like a kid again! The Christmas scents drift between the stalls, tempting you to taste hot mulled wine, candies, gingerbread, and all the treats that put you in the holiday spirit before even taking the first sip! In Strasbourg, traditional Christmas treats are pure festive magic! Bredele, pain d’épices, mannele, kougelhopf – every bite smells like pure Christmas spirit! Strasbourg is a culinary crossroads between France and Germany! Here, French finesse meets German heartiness: delicate sauces and desserts mingle with spicy, hearty dishes. Look at how these little animals are worn out from all the holiday hustle and bustle… The Christmas market around Strasbourg Cathedral is perfect for photos — twinkling stalls and lights against the majestic architecture look straight out of a fairytale. As evening falls, the cathedral comes alive in the glow of thousands of twinkling lights – its Gothic façades are illuminated as if they’re glowing from within. At the market, the toy nutcrackers are impossible to miss! Standing proudly on stalls in all shapes and sizes, they bring a playful, festive charm. Somebody pinch me, because I feel like I’m dreaming — as if I’ve stepped into a magical land of childhood dreams. Every architectural detail of the Strasbourg Cathedral sparkles in a new way, creating a true Christmas spectacle right before your eyes. It’s not a Christmas tree, but how beautifully it sparkles in the holiday spirit! The Golden Quarter now sparkles not just with gold, but with festive lights, twinkling decorations, and Christmas magic, as if a fairy tale itself has settled on these streets! Christmas Strasbourg will stay with me as a truly unique place, where fairy tales come to life at every step… The place, where festive lights turn historic streets into a magical world, and the holiday spirit fills your heart with warmth and joy. I want to show you the inside of Strasbourg Cathedral — it’s simply an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere at the Christkindelsmärik is pure holiday magic. Every corner here echoes a medieval Christmas bazaar, while blending tradition with modern festive touches for an unforgettable experience. Local artisans preserve centuries-old methods of making souvenirs, and buying items at the market has become a little tradition for many families. Don’t forget to like and subscribe!
