I need to fit a gear initiator chain to my 6 speed electric c line. The bag has the chain… but there’s a random washer in there. Am I meant to fit that anywhere? From online guides, it seems like it’s not needed/was included by mistake? Thanks!

I have never seen a washer anywhere around the gear indicator chain on any 6 speed Brompton. I think your right in guessing that it was included by mistake, but I would keep it in case you do find it has some propose
The spring washer goes between the knurled thumbscrew and the threaded barrel
That’s how mine was when I unboxed it a few weeks ago, anyway.
