We leave the lovely French country roads behind and start to follow the beautiful Nantes-Brest canal which will take us home over the next few days.
It was another long cycle today but also more great memories made even if we lost stuff or made a few mistakes it all adds to the adventure.

Hi, I’m Haley and this is my dad, Roy. And we’re going to be cycling from Santandere to Roskoff. We’ll be covering 1,200 km over 11 days. Join us for this challenge cuz there’s going to be many ups and downs, and we’re both going to be challenging our limits on these loaded bikes. We will be supporting each other to conquer many challenging and iconic clims in the Spanish mountains. who will be cycling through the Spanish countryside and along the French coast, picking up our food along the road and uh hopefully camping every night. So, make sure you follow us to see whether we can conquer this adventure. All right, day nine. Leaving the campsite 10. It’s It’s quite hot. It’s quite hot. How far are we going today? Day 130 something K again. Day nine. 138 km. 138 km. Let’s go. After doing a quick Uturn back into the campsite because we thought there was a road through there. There’s not. We’re back on the road. Good morning. We’ve done 27k in an hour. Yesterday was a long day, but we’ve got another long day today. Where are we going? G M. It’s on the N breast Canal. Oh yeah. Nice uh gravel roads. Yesterday it’s like half the ride. Yeah. More. Yeah. Um today mostly on the road but then tomorrow all on the uh N breast canal toe path. Yeah that’ll be really nice I think. Yeah. And my left eye is a bit sore. I’ve only got one contact then. I feels really weird. Okay. See you later. Bye. The bells are loud. Where are Roy? We are in Malcool St. M. That’s definitely how you say it. Yeah, definitely. Just got some lunch. Some soft baguettes this time to uh save some energy off our jaws. Huetsettes are quite chewy, aren’t they? They are. Yeah. So, this is a strategic lunch to give us more energy in the legs later on. Yeah. We’ve also got Yeah. Huge bag of crisps and some cold lattes. How are you feeling after 3 hours of riding? Uh, pretty good. It’s been a nice day. The wind’s been a bit uh lighter and we’ve been on the road for all of the day so far. Some nice smooth roads. I’m ready to sit down on something other than a cycling bicycle saddle. Yeah, I’m feeling good. Been behind dad’s wheel most of the ride. Got the solar panel on the bike. Pretty sweet setup. A lovely view of the lake. Not the best hiking shoes. Wow. Doesn’t look the nicest. Just finished eating lunch. We’ll go back on the road in a momentto grown up. Sure. We are in St. Puzzan and we are going to St. Helerin Helerin and we are going to cross the river river on a little ferry. Yep. Have a little break there. But uh it’s been a good day, isn’t it? Just got on a crazy busy road, didn’t we? Yeah, it wasn’t very nice. Every lorry which came by past you massive. But it was only for a short while. And uh most of the drivers are respectful, aren’t they? So yeah, lovely nice little uh cathedral church just there. Pretty small one. Yeah, they make a really small impress. Wa. Yeah, it’s a cool cool path, isn’t it? We’re on the L. Just crossing it now. We’re going to be on the other side in a minute, so we’ll have to get off. We got off the boat, but when we didn’t pay, there was no person, was there? No machines. Bit confused, but free. Yeah, cost for free. It’s 30° now. 50k to go as well. And it’s what time? Just gone four. Just gone four. Wow. There was a time in my life that only God would understand. I tried to be a better man, but I fell down again. She walked my way the other day. Nothing else is left to say. As soon as she approached me, I can tell that she is such a sweet. Can you show me how you freak, baby? Can you make it extra kinky for me? Yeah. Can we do some dirty things, baby? Baby girl, can you break it down? And after them, I tried to pretend but couldn’t hide what I now know. She kept me crawling back. She kept me coming back. Here we are 10k to go till we get to go in a minute. Doesn’t do that where we camp. hanging off the towel turned into a beast. I was in all sorts of pain. Baby girl, I want to show you I’m a free baby. I want to get you on your dirty baby. We have arrived at the campsite. Tent is up. We’ve had showers. We’ve cleaned our clothes. Got some pasta bolognese for tea. Some Coca-Cas. And what does dad say? And some bread. What does mine says? Jonathan. There you go. That’s one for uh Jonathan Gillum. Well done. I’ll have this one for a bit of energy tomorrow. Mhm. We got some sweet bread. Yeah. Got some puddings later on as well. Creps and biscuits. Yeah. And we went 130 9 km today. 9 km today. Finishing on the N breast canal for the last 15 km. Yeah. Where Haley was hammering it just about keep up. And it was a really nice sunny warm evening, wasn’t it? Well, the reason for that is because my right pa has got a hole in it and we were going down this nice descent and then we hear a thud. Mhm. We did. We didn’t think anything of it. And then when we get here Oh, no. It was a shop. Went to Yeah. Car Express. There’s a hole in my pa. So, I looked through it and I couldn’t find my towel anywhere. So the green towel is somewhere in the French roads countryside somewhere. And Haley turned into the green hulk after that. I got pretty sad that I lost it. So I just put all my anger into cycling and pulled down along the what was it? What was it? The breast canal. Not breast canal. Not breast canal. Yeah. She did it at like 26 km an hour. So, it was a bit sad cuz you had that towel for a long time and it did feel like part of the family. But, yeah, luckily the campsite hires towels. So, dreams. Yeah. How was the towels? They’re pretty nice. Well, there we go. So, we’re going to enjoy our tea and then maybe have a little walk. I like to have a little walk over there. See what’s about. Have a look at the canal. Yeah. Bonapetit. Bonapit. I want to get you on you, baby. I want to do the dirty deep, baby. Baby girl, kiss me, break it down. I want to show you everything, baby. I want to get the I want to do it till you leave me now.
