Been slowly putting parts on this 97 rock hopper. I decided to build a homemade rear “basket” out of a skate deck and some bolts/metal rods. It was my first time welding so don’t look too close..
I attached both the rear rack and the skate deck in a pretty DIY fassion, but it’s sturdy and won’t be holding more than the weight of a 6 pack. Just need some lights and new pedals now !

I used to have that exact model year and color. Great frame right in the sweet spot for vintage mtbs with 1-1/8 headsets and 135 rear spacing.
