Hey Im from Australia and trying to get ahold of a 84/85 mongoose Californian BMX to ride, I’ve been having a bit of a tough time finding one and was kinda considering the reproduction models from 2021, i like the look of the 84/85 frames over the 83 but I was curious how durable the 84/85 frames actually were, I plan to actually ride this bike not just keep it for a display and was curious how strong the chromoly frames were for jumping and stuff compared to the steel frames of the reproduction models which I’ve heard were built a lot cheaper and for basically being a cruiser bike. Obviously I wouldn’t be hitting massive ramps or anything but would love to know just how much more durable the original frames were for that sort of thing
