It is pretty nice riding towards the sun going down. But it can end in a very unpleasant ride. This is always the sign to get home soon. As I dressed for a nice afternoon, as soon as the sun dropped below the trees it got way colder over here. That is something no one should underestimate especially in late autumn or early winter.
Also these rides make me feel happy about the little thing regarding my gear. Of course we can talk about frames and your groupset and so on. But for me the dark days really let me apreciate my reflective neon jacket, my backlight, mudguards and also my bell. There are always people out there that try to tell me how uncool a bell makes my bike. The perfect answer? Ring the bell as long as needed that this guy leaves. His annoyance is already paying off for the bell. But over here in Germany the bell is well regarded mainly and people always give way. A nice "Thank you" will always be answered too.
