I sometimes make the jump flawlessly, sometimes I case them, similar to this recording. Any tips on what I can do to consistently land the jumps well? I'm struggling with it a bit, though I'm wanting to learn! Any criticism is welcomed… (the bike is a Kona Satori 2012 29er. I run tubed with ~40psi when on the paved jump line.)

Any tips on improving my jumping form?

Your form looks good. Im wondering if its either the pump before takeoff or speed

  2. I’m no expert – but it appears you’re standing too quickly/too early. If you’re going for height you want to extend/stand through the full take off so that you get to full extension right as your back wheel leaves the lip.

Apart from that form looks good to me.

  3. You should be able to clear these with your technique, but on a bigger bike they’re really tough. You need to carry a LOT of speed through that first berm and it has a roller you MUST pump to clear this jump. You need to pump it as hard as you can and you should be able to clear it. It takes a ton of effort on my Ripmo AF bc this line is really made for DJs. Next time you go, try to carry as much speed as you can over the first jump, quick through the berm, then pump over that roller. Then, you can stay low and do exactly what you did here and I bet you’ll be closer to clearing it. You have to go way faster than you think!

I think it’s timing. You’re fully extended too soon so you’re not getting the most energy from that last part of the jump face.

dont press into the lip and try to “pop” so much, just go up the lip with your body louse and legs straight, think of standing up to the jump, then just let the jump do the work, see how that goes,

  6. Yooo…welcome to Knoxville. Hope you enjoyed Baker Creek. Sorry it’s so wet and sloppy right now.

  7. You could be getting much more pop out of the take off I think. Work on pumping and applying force on the back wheel through more of the lip. You basically pop a bike length too early.
