Hello, my name is Susan and I’m a 62 year old woman that retired and I sold my house and I’m traveling the world on my bicycle. I hope you will join me for my adventure. Thank you. Good morning. So, I believe this is day 120 and John and Tessa and I are heading out of Grado, North Macedonia. We uh left about 9:30 this morning, so I got a pretty good start. And we are going to stay on the Eurovvel 11 route all day long. So, it’s nice to have a route to just follow. I think part of it supposed to be gravel, but most of it is country roads like what we’re on right now. And we’re going to stop in Star Dohan, which is right at the Greek border. There’s a nice lake there. And uh we already have a reservation. So uh so here we go. We got about 50 55 miles, I think, to ride. And uh we’re supposed to be going through one of the prettiest parts of North Macedonia in in this area. So, all right. I’ll check in later. Yeah. [Music] I think I found it now. What I’ve been looking for. Isn’t it beautiful? It’s got my head all up in the clouds. I think I found it now. Everything I want might be a miracle. I know I’m never coming down. I don’t got to worry about a single thing. I can feel the light coming down on me. Sunshine on my face. I got sunshine on my face. I don’t got to care right now. Higher than the ceiling. Backing through the clouds. Sunshine on my face. I got sunshine on my face. Yeah, I got sunshine. Yeah, I got sunshine. I got sunshine. I got to let you know. It’s so incredible. I’m finally letting go. Up, up, and away. We go. I found my right on time. Now I know what it feels like to shine. So, we had about 10 miles, I believe, of gravel roads, and it wasn’t bad with my gravel bike. I rather enjoyed it, but Tessa and John with their skinnier touring tires were very happy when we finished the gravel portion. It was a little rougher on them, but the scenery was beautiful and no traffic at all, so I enjoyed it. Yeah, [Music] I got sunshine. I got sunshine. I got sunshine. I got to let you know. I got sunshine. I got sunshine. I got sunshine. I got sunshine. All right. This is what €44 gets you in southern North Macedonia. We’re like a mile from the border with Greece. Uh but uh pretty pretty nice bathroom. Got two beds, little kitchenet, and uh not sure if I have a view of the lake or not. There’s a lake across the road. I do have a balcony. And I’m sure there’s a way to open this that I’m not seeing. Oh, I think I go here. Yeah. Yeah. So, here’s a little balcony town. So, the lake is just right through there. And uh downstairs is a highly rated restaurant where we stayed last night. The lady said we should eat the fish soup. That that was um what she and her husband had on their first date here, which was a long time ago. And so uh so yeah, I’m going to check the weather. It may rain tomorrow. If so, I may stay an extra night here and en and enjoy the luxury. So pretty nice. Uh let’s see. As far as the day’s ride, uh mostly flat. We had a couple of climbs in there. I rode with John and Tessa all day long. Um, when we leave here and cross the Greek border, we’re going to go separate directions and they have to leave tomorrow because they’ve got a ferry ticket out of Thessaloniki. So, um, so today was our last day riding together, but it’s been a fun two days spending time with them. And, uh, so yeah, I think we did like 57 58 miles, something like that to get here. And I got here like at 4:30. So, very, very reasonable day. We didn’t start early and we uh finished at a reasonable time. So, I’m going to go get cleaned up so that I can go have some fish soup and other things. The food looked really good when we went in to register for our room. So, all right. I will check in later. So, I looked on Facebook. It looks like you stopped in Turkey and returned to the US? It has been fun following your progress.
