Often times I find that means there was an accident recently and the debris didn’t get cleared. I try to watch out for them now.

Could just be bad luck, though.

If you have the cash, Schwalbe Marathon Pluses is what I run. The only flat I’ve gotten on them was a year ago when a sheet metal screw went clean through my front tire. I’ve gone through goat heads and broken glass no problem.

  3. For some reason punctures always seem to happen to me in clusters. I’ll go for years without a flat and then I’ll get 2 or 3 in a row over the course of a month.

Nice a catch and release! Go get bigger you little glass and I hope someone else catches you soon. 🚲😂

  5. Schwalbe marathon plus with tpu tubes to cancel out the extra weight!

    Or go tubeless. 🤔

I usually get 3k miles on GP5000’s before they start allowing wires & shards through to the tubes.

Definitely is now at least a week past New Tires Day.

  7. Are you cleaning out the inside of the tire and rim before replacing the tube? You may have something sharp embedded.

  8. I have ridden literally thousands of flat-free miles on a properly installed set of Mr Tuffy’s tire liners

I ride my bike in the lane. I feel like I’m more visible and don’t run over as much junk.

  10. On average I get a flat every 600 miles.

Sometimes I would get a flat shortly after fixing a flat because the object that caused the flat is still in the tire so before I install the tube, I quickly wipe a cotton ball inside the tire which will snag on anything sharp. be careful using your bare hands though because you could get a painful cut.

  11. My experience with this is that if you get more than 1 flat in a week it’s time to replace the tires. The Marathons have treated me well.
