Hi everyone! The shoecover is quite new. I used it maybe 5 times and after today’s ride I discovered this hole on the left pair. I’m guessing it’s how I clip in or I don’t know. I’m new at cycling and clipping in isn’t always so smooth 🙂
Anyway, I’d like to ask you people for some tips and advice on how to fix that tear or at least stopping from spreading so much that the shoecover becomes unusable. Also maybe if you have similar experience than to point out what could be the reason for this.
Also, I wrote to Castelli hoping that maybe they’re so generous to accept it under warranty claims and I asked their advice too on how to fix this in case the warranty isn’t valid, which I’m pretty sure isn’t but lately many companies are super generous with warranty.

I’ve always considered overshoes to be a consumable resource. If I get more than 2 seasons out of a pair I’ll call it a win.
If it’s only on the one foot, chances are you are pushing your self off with the toe of your foot and not your cleat after restarting from a stop.
I use something called fray check to keep holes like this from getting bigger once they form. To prevent them, I really try to make sure I’m only stepping on and launching from my cleat when my feet aren’t on the pedals.
I’ve been using a pair for like 10 years and they have holes in the bottom, still work perfectly fine
Very common, no matter the brand. This will inevitably happen. I thought about buying Castelli or another expensive brand, but I ended up with cheap Giyo neoprene covers (AliExpress). They are waterproof enough and keep my feet warm for around CAD30.
