I consider xbiking to be “doing real shit with bikes” as in getting groceries, picking up kids, carrying shit, and in general just coming up with solutions that makes a bicycle practical.
Other people can keep their one trick ponies (xc mtb, full sus mtb, road bikes, gravel bikes) i have no time for any of that

Road bikes: the road isnt nice enough to not break your fragile bike
Mountain bikes: woah woah woah, i dont need to learn how to service hydraulic forks to ride my bike to the store to get beer or go on a dirt path sometimes… (plus ugly)
