I was all geared up and ready to go in 11-degree F weather. I’d checked the cycleway Sunday, and it was fine, but apparently the plows took another pass on the main road and tossed it all on the cycleway. That path then froze over with all of its chunks of rocky ice. It was impossible to pedal, and it wasn’t even happening on my fat tire e-bike. It just wasn’t safe. I had to turn around and walk it most of the way back home where my boss picked me up. That was cool, and he’s been super supportive. (He’s the one that found me a place indoors to park my bike.)
Anyway, most the cycleway is clear now aside from about the first 3/4 of a mile I take it. Will check back tomorrow night. Such a bummer, but it was the smart move. I would like to bike for many more days.
But hey, that sunrise is awesome to ride into!😃
