I couldn’t find a bike in my budget without having to make compromises (mechanical brakes, cheap 1×9 or 1×10, weight), so I decided to build my own with patience and good deals.
I started with a Radon Regard frameset (same as the Cube NuRoad).
I waited for sales and squeezed as much as I could out of Aliexpress coupons.
The result:
9.5 kg on the scale with accessories and pedals (but without the bottles)
All for under €1200!
2×11 drivetrain (ultegra FD, GRX RD), 30–46 up front and 11–34 in the back
GRX shifters and brakes
Carbon Wheels
I’m so happy !

What crank/rings?
Love a good deal build, and I absolutely love the 11 speed mechanical. It’ll run forever and it shifts so great. Once it’s dialed in it’s just bombproof.
What crank is that?
This is such an awesome build and mindset. That bike looks stunning! I never had tons of money either but it is better these days. I love guitar pedals and effects but they are very expensive so 15 years ago I started learning to solder, read schematics and understand theory and components. Now I can build stuff that is not even thought up yet or available for purchase. Necessity always leads to freedom (knowledge), creativity (joy) and other magical places! Keep kicking ass and enjoy that bike to the fullest! We can do so damn much with very little if we just go for it!
what handlebar did you use looks nice with the angled hood
This looks great. What’s that frame? Radon Regard?
