Any tips on dealing with dense and dusty muddy water? Have recently added a skirt to my mudgurads, but as you can see it aint done much – that wet muddy suspension seems to successfully fly around obstacles and hit the bottom bracket, shoes, rear mech. It even makes it to the front end of the front guard and then sprays back all over.
I have a suspicion that the tire profile (slick with periferal ribs) might not be particularly helpful. Maybe all-slick/knobby/skinnier tire would do better? Setting the mudguards differently?

How wide is the tire relative to the mudguard?
I had a similar issue and I ended up getting a front mudflap that goes down to within 3″ or so of the ground. Before that, you could see a distinct clean/dirty line halfway up downtube where the mud that escaped the mudguards got up to – I found it surprising how far down the flap has to go to keep the drivetrain/BB area clean.
Slightly off topic, how are you doing with chain and rim wear with that kind of mud? I’m finding myself needing new rims after >8,000km with regular riding in that kind of slop (mine has some extra sand thrown in from the beach path and heathland bridleways I guess). New chains every 2-3,000km and brake pads around 1,500-2000km. Seems excessive to me but maybe that’s just the way?
Spray will find a way. But yes, those fenders are not wide enough for the tires you are running.
