  1. If you can’t get Rapha to repair it then any good clothing alterations shop will have a cover stitch machine and be able to redo either that section or the whole chamois seam pretty easily.

Yes. Rapha has a whole form on their web site for submitting repair requests, even for crash damage. They’ll typically either offer to repair it, replace it, or offer you a discount voucher for a new one.

I’ve taken 2 pairs 2 times to get raphas stitched. Rapha does repairs but I just went to local seamstress for like $12.

Every pair of Rapha bibs I have bought have done this. They did a repair but it took several months and the quality of the repair was meh

  5. They do repair, but might also be worth checking warranty as I think the repair can be quite slow.

Basically you mail them off (you pay to send to them, they send back repaired for free) and wait 1 month+ before you get them back.

For something like that just pay someone $10 instead of sending it away for weeks. But has to be stitched right so it doesn’t hurt ur ass.

I have three pairs of Rapha bibs and they all did this at about the same area on both sides. I was wondering if it was just me. Took mine to a seamstress to avoid a long wait.

Learn how to use a needle or pay someone 10 quids to repair it. There’s no need to send your bibs halway across the planet for a pulled thread. 🙂

  9. I’ve had 3 pairs of PNS do this (2 of Them replaced the 1 i bought). Last return after only riding 800 km I was told to check my seating position, so I’ll be looking into that and changing bib brand of course (even though it have also Been a slight issue on my Rapha bibs, But only after 5000 km. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Maybe I am sitting in a stupid pos.

Iva had just bad luck with rapha lately. I’ve personally decided to be done with them. I had a Jersey come undone at a seam and it came apart and they couldn’t figure anything out, maybe it was a bot I was working with?

  11. I had 2 of my bibs (not Rapha) do this. Turned out to be saddle bag rub when riding that caused it (was using Arundel single seatbag – it’s narrow but the Velcro strap part still rubbed against the bib in certain seat and pedal action). Now I favor bags that can be setup further back away from seat post (any of the saddle bags from Silca, for example). I didn’t bother fixing the 2 bibs and am using it for just indoor trainer rides. Got new Rapha, Ostroy, and La Passione bibs that’s been holding together well for group rides.

  12. Just had this issue with a pair or Raphas, submitted a repair request and they sent me a voucher for the price of the bibs (didn’t have to send them back). The bibs were only 27 days old though, so within return window.

For the record, the damage is 100% saddle rub. You are likely rubbing the bottom of it, which means you need to move the seat forward more so you thighs don’t hit the seat clamp (which was my issue and the damage looked exactly the same as yours).

Figure out where the rub is and fix it before you get them repaired.

I find it’s often easier and faster to just take it to a local clothing alterations place.

Most mom and pop dry cleaning shops can fix this for a fair price. Last time I had a seam repaired it was like $10.
