I’m currently running a 44t chainring. My most used gear on the cassette is always the 17t. Wouldn’t it create a more straight chain line putting on a 46t chainring instead.
I would say that’s it’s a pretty perfect distribution. Also, gives you a much easier gear when needed. I wouldn’t change.

Considering you don’t even touch the 10T cog I wouldn’t get a higher gear in the front.

the chainline is not in the middle. look at your chain in different gears and you’ll know which gear is the chainline. based on what i know about older SRAM drivetrains i’m guessing it’s the 17T
