Hi everyone, I have a wheel that I want to swap the Microspline freehub body for a HG11 one. In the manual and technical document, it does share all the mechanism between the two.
The problem is I don't seem to be able to remove the freehub body. The disassembly manual says that I just need to pull it, but for the life of me I can't pull it out. https://si.shimano.com/en/pdfs/dm/LAHB002/DM-LAHB002-03-ENG.pdf
I have use a plier (making sure to use cloth to protect the cap) to pull the cap, but still couldn't do it.
Am I missing something here? Am I reading the wrong manual or is it just very hard and I need another technique to pull this off?
Cheers!

You’re reading the manual correctly.
Try putting the DS axle end cap in some soft jaws on a bench vise, then wiggle the whole wheel back and forth as you pull up on it. Sometimes they just don’t come off particularly easy.
You just pull it off. You can use either an axle vise shaft clamp in a vise, a hub genie, or bearing slide hammer. All will work to get the end caps off. In a pinch you could use a vise and with a towel or cloth on it to prevent scraping the end cap. Apply upward force and it will likely pop off.
