Shimano STX-RC FH-MC33 Parallax
Is there any compatibility with Hyperglide cassettes?? Just bought a Tunturi Kayapo with full stx-rc groupset. I would like to preserve authenticity 🥲
HG is the same. Original 7 speed was a narrow version. 8,9,10,11(mountain) all fit the same freehub. 11 speed (road) is 1.85mm wider but compatible with spacers. Microspline is the latest modification in the design, but has some backward compatibility. If you want to use a 7-speed cassette on a newer HG freehub, there are dpacers for that, too.

It’s HG, but might just be 7 speed. UG has threads at the end of the free hub body.

Si.shimano.com is great for old part diagrams.
This is a 7 speed HG hub. The 8 speed version was FH-MC38

I’m pretty sure this is HG, you can see the difference her: [https://sheldonbrown.com/k7.html](https://sheldonbrown.com/k7.html)
Edit: Production of the STX group set started 1993, since UG was phased out in the 80’s it is HG [https://www.shimano.com/en/100th/history/products/62.php](https://www.shimano.com/en/100th/history/products/62.php)
