Today a flat day, no climbing. Drove by car to Routelle and started cycling along the Canal from there with the aim to reach Besancon. As we were there early we continued. Great cycling infrastructure. Amazing tunnels for the canal, which follows the river Doubs here.

Plan for today is to follow the canal bon in a northeasterly direction to be sort following the canal made for an easy climbing day so to speak only 170 years. We had a late start due to the rain and it was still very much overcasted. We were not the only ones who were getting wet. We squeezed here the road on the far left, then the canal, and on the right the river. Whilst taking shelter, You may as well eat something. Here the canal becomes a tunnel to cut off a member in the river. This is how it looks on the other side. Uh, I think the big round pond is for boats to turn around. I do not know why the water is coming down. Maybe to discourage canoe or kayaking. On the map, the meander of the river can clearly be seen. The cycle pass in between the river and the canal. Here the canal separates from the river. A very optimistic sign. That’s one way to create a safe passage for cyclist. There are substantial fortifications at Bansson. Right. Obvious reasons for a a log. a split level cycle pass. You don’t see that very often. A tunnel underneath the city of Banung to shortcut the meandering river. the famous French game of Jo the bull. In the meantime, we’ve arrived now at the halfway point. So, time to turn the bike around. almost equal width a song tunnel but now from the other All right. And some more people having fun.
