Don't trust the recommendations of those at Canyon. I bought both myself and a friend 1 month apart a Canyon Speedmax CFR (12500 euros) He recommended the M and S frames respectively. Correct so far. But because they probably had too many in stock, they effectively stuck an extra-long 115 mm handlebar down our throats that we can't actually use. We both went to a professional fitting and realized that they configured our bikes wrong. Their answer: Let's pay another flatbar for 400 euros! This is after I bought 2 more bikes from them this year alone – all carbon and priced accordingly. Some scoundrels!

  1. You bought an off the catalogue bike and now you’re angry it doesn’t fit you out of the box? Non-custom bikes are always a compromise. If you want something that fits 100% go to a Bikefit first and then let a local shop build a bike to your specs.

  2. I’m not sure if my canyon program applies to speedmax, but if yes, you could’ve optioned your component lengths there.

if u have 25000 euros for two bikes (LMAO) u can affort 400/800 euros for handlebars, case closed.

  4. Did the bike come with another handlebar than canyon stated? If not then i really don’t see the point of this post. Those recommendations are lose recommendations at best and with a tt bike spending a couple more dollars to get the position perfectly right is to be expected. If you want to get it right from the beginning you gotta get a custom bike.
