This week, NEWS.MC TV brings you the latest developments from around the Principality.
Monte Carlo paid sparkling tribute to Josephine Baker on November 19, as the Grimaldi Forum hosted Welcome to Monte Carlo, a musical revue marking fifty years since the legendary performer’s passing. A fitting nod to a woman who once lit up stages across Europe, the show delivered glamour, history, and a healthy dose of razzle-dazzle.
Diplomatic ears were wide open on November 20, as more than 100 consuls and ambassadors gathered for the Principality’s annual briefing. Over two and a half hours, Monaco laid out its recent progress — economic strength, judicial reform, international outreach — the works. Plenty for diplomats to carry home in their attaché cases.
Relations between Monaco and Portugal moved from cordial to historic on November 21 and 22, when President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa became the first Portuguese head of state to pay an official visit to the Principality. The Palace courtyard welcome was suitably ceremonial, with the Princely Couple greeting the President before a programme of events aimed at strengthening long-established ties.
Environmental stewardship also took centre stage as Prince Albert II marked the 50th anniversary of the Association for Nature Conservation in Monaco. The Prince toured a special exhibition on November 22, celebrating half a century of commitment to protecting marine life — a reminder that ocean guardianship is a marathon, not a sprint.
International rowing talent swept into the Principality for the 20th Prince Albert II Challenge on November 22 and 23. Dutch crews proved the ones to beat, clinching wins in a weekend of photo-finish duels — some by mere seconds — under crisp Riviera sunshine.
Cycling fans got their adrenaline fix on November 23, when the Beking of Monaco returned to Port Hercule. Forty laps at breakneck pace ended with Italian powerhouse Jonathan Milan outsprinting defending champion Tadej Pogačar to take the win — a finish that could’ve cheered the harbour louder than the yachts.
History crossed borders once again when Prince Albert II travelled to Liguria to reinforce the centuries-old ties between Monaco and the region. Two municipalities officially joined the Network of Historic Grimaldi Sites, sealing a shared heritage that stretches far beyond flags and boundaries.
On the court, AS Monaco Basket tore up the script with a crushing 102–66 victory over Anadolu Efes in Round 13 of the EuroLeague. It was a record-tying assist night, every player got minutes, and the scoreboard wasn’t exactly subtle about who dominated.
This week on NEWS.MC TV, our guest is Vincent Valat, founder of The Wolf’s Club. In our interview, he discusses Monaco’s evolving social landscape, the momentum behind his fast-growing private members’ concept, and what it means to build community in a city where networks are everything.

Coming up on News.mc, discover past week’s top stories and meet the people who make Monaco. Hi, my name is Vincent Valat. I’m the founder of the Vulf Club and you are watching news.mc on Monaco info. What’s been making headline in the past week? As part of Monaco’s national day celebrations, the Grimmaldi Forum hosted Welcome to Monte Carlo on November the 19th, a spectacular musical review honoring the life of Josephine Baker 50 years after her passing. Directed by David Liverour with musical direction by Ivan Casar, the performance blends opera, jazz review, and musical theater in a sweeping tribute to Baker’s extraordinary life. Relle Valerie leads the cast, joined by opera star Pretty Yender, a 50piece orchestra, and 20 dancers. Conceived by Cecilia Bari, this dazzling production celebrates Baker’s legacy in the city she called home. Monaco showcased its progress and international engagement during its annual meeting of councils on Thursday the 20th of November with more than 100 representatives in attendance. Over two and a half hours of presentations covered key developments in the principality from economic performance and attractiveness to judicial reform. A particular focus was placed on Monaco’s response to being placed on the FATF gray list with Secretary of State for Justice Samuel Vela Simon highlighting rapid legislative updates and the creation of a financial section within the public prosecutor’s office. These reforms are part of the principality’s drive to meet international standards in fighting money laundering and increasing legal cooperation abroad. The gathering closed by Minister of State Kristoff Myamar reaffirmed Monaco’s ongoing commitment to diplomacy, transparency, and global dialogue. The Principality of Monaco welcomed Portuguese President Marcelo Rebello Duza for a historic official visit on November the 21st and 22nd, the first by a sitting Portuguese head of state. The visit began with a formal welcome in the palace courtyard where the princely couple greeted the president. Her Serene Highness, Princess Charlene, paid tribute to Portugal by wearing the national colors, and military honors were rendered by Monaco’s public force. Following the national anthems and review of troops, the two heads of state held a bilateral meeting and exchanged decorations. His Serene Highness Prince Albert II awarded President Rebello Dusa the Grand Cross of the Order of St. Charles while the president presented the prince with the grand collar of the order of Christ and Princess Charlene received the grand cross of the same order. The day also included the signing of a new framework agreement strengthening cooperation in areas such as the environment, oceans, sport, culture and economic development. To conclude the visit, President Rebello Dusa met with over 600 members of the Portuguese community at the Oceanographic Museum. Greeted with warm applause and national music, the president shared a heartfelt speech emphasizing the centuries old friendship between Portugal and Monaco, dating back to the reigns of King Carlos I and Prince Albert I. For many Portuguese residents, this was a deeply emotional moment, an opportunity to feel recognized and celebrated. With Portugal’s strong presence in the region, particularly in Boise, where they represent 40% of the population, the president’s visit reinforced shared values and long-standing ties between the two nations. Monaco’s Association for Nature Conservation is celebrating 50 years of protecting the principality’s marine heritage and his serene highness Prince Albert II marked the occasion by visiting a special anniversary exhibition on Saturday the 22nd of November. Unveiled at the gallery de Peshure, the show traces the organization’s five decades of environmental commitment from local coastal preservation to international advocacy and highlights its scientific, educational, and awareness raising work. Open to the public until January the 4th, the exhibition offers a chance to discover how Monaco continues to lead in marine conservation. The 20th edition of the Prince Albert II Challenge brought elite rowing teams from 19 countries to Monaco for a weekend of highlevel competition on the 22nd and 23rd of November. Held under sunny skies, the races featured mixed doubles, singles, and fours with several duels decided by just two seconds. Dutch crews ultimately triumphed, securing victory in the finals. His serene highness Prince Albert II was present to witness the thrilling action as athletes pushed themselves to the limit in sprint format events. Organizers hailed the rising level of competition and look ahead to an even more spectacular edition next year. The fifth edition of the beacing of Monaco brought worldclass cyclists to Port Hercule on Sunday the 23rd of November. Combining elite sport with charitable purpose. Under bright skies, riders completed 40 laps at an impressive average speed of 46 km per hour. The race came down to a thrilling final sprint with Italy’s Jonathan Milan edging out defending champion Tad Pogachar to take the win. Monaco’s own Victor Langelotti delivered a standout performance, finishing third, while Robert Stannard recorded the fastest lap. Milan competing here for only the second time was awarded his trophy by his serene highness Prince Albert II. Once again, the Beacon combined sporting excellence with solidarity, raising funds for the Princess Charlene Foundation and Fight Aids Monaco and delivering a spectacular atmosphere for spectators. His Serene Highness Prince Albert II traveled to Lagura on Tuesday to renew the ancient historical ties linking the principality to the Italian region of Lura as two municipalities officially joined the network of historic Grimmaldi sites. The visit was placed firmly under the banner of shared heritage, memory, and cultural transmission. The day began in Stella in the hamlet of Sanjiovani where the sovereign was welcomed by local officials and residents on land long associated with the early history of the Grimaldi family. His Serene Highness Prince Albert II paid tribute at the tomb of Sandro Patini, former president of the Italian Republic and a native of the region before continuing the program with a visit to the ruins of the medieval castle once under Grimmaldi control. The site bears witness to the dynasty’s laggerian roots and its early territorial ambitions in the 13th century. The prince later visited the Sandro Patini Museum House and signed the official guest book marking the historic role played by the region as one of the earliest strongholds of the Grimmaldi family outside the Genoies area. Historians recalled that several castles and territories across Lura once formed part of this network with Monaco itself originating from this broader territorial expansion. In the second stage of the visit, another municipality was formally welcomed into the Grimaldi network accompanied by the inauguration of restoration work at Clavisana Castle, also a former Grimmaldi residence. The site was blessed by the village priest before his serene highness Prince Albert II visited the adjoining church, concluding a day rich in symbolism. Beyond commemoration, the visit underscored the importance of heritage as a driver of cultural identity and sustainable tourism, strengthening the enduring bond between Monaco and Lagura for future generations. Monaco made club history yet again, demolishing Anadalu FS 102-6 in round 13 of the Euro League. After a strong first half, Monaco pulled away with a dominant second half, tying a club record with 28 assists and giving minutes to all 12 players. Daniel Theis led with 17 points while Matthew Strazel and Nicola Miritic delivered standout performances. Coach Spanulis praised the team’s unselfish play and strong defense. With back-to-back home games ahead after the break, Monaco is looking more dangerous than ever. Next up, our exclusive interview with the personalities making the principality. Hi everyone, my name is Vincent. I come from south of France, a little beautiful city named Nim. It’s a very amazing city because we have a lot of very old monument. This city is really a big part of my life because I lived there during more than 20 years. But I was in holiday in uh south of France, French Riviera in VR and for sure with my parents in Monaco and I discovered this amazing country uh at this time of my life and I do my first part of career in finance. My specialty was uh taxation and step by step meeting some people. I’m going to Paris. I’m going to London, Luxmbborg. And uh at this time I had the opportunity to create my first company in Monaco. And it was beginning of a new chapter of my life. Lot of opportunity and a special country because it make me realize my dream. I was thinking since many years, oh, I can uh bring all the wealthy and nice and elegant people I know from all over the world in Monaco. It was a reflection since 2 three years and uh we create a private membership club named the Vulf Club. The main goal is to promote the attractivity in Monaco in the best way and the best elegant way and in a very special setting. safety, stability, Monaco. This club, it’s a little different concept of private membership club as we all know like arts club or this kind of club. We don’t have a physical place. It’s a choice because we want all member connect each other all time because it’s with this connection we can build trust and maybe business tomorrow, friendship, love etc. But without meeting, without speaking and without this moment, we cannot create something. It’s very good for people to speak with each other. We are engaged in Monaco to participate to all the prestigious gala with the prince family because it’s very important for us to support all the beautiful things of Monaco. We have another part of the club. We organize some economic mission. We do partnership with other pre club in Europe and we bring member of other club inside Monaco in partnership with Monaco economic board. We do the first economic mission with Monaco private label welcome office and Monaco tech Monaco it’s very ultra dynamic. It’s really to bring and give back what Monaco gave it to me many years before. The club it’s uh something Mon can’t buy. We have a special connection in all the world but specially in Monaco and we organize some really special confidential cocktail for example we have a cocktail inside the cellar of hotel dear. I am a member of this private circle because I’m a very big wine lover. For example, we was invited by China Club Berlin in Berlin with a member of this private club. It was my first time in Berlin. I can say it was totally amazing. Not because Berlin is the most beautiful city in the world. It’s because we immediately arrive with the best connection. If you arrive from Los Angeles, from Denmark, from Finland because we have really member everywhere. they don’t know Monaco and it’s very important to have a local person to give the best experience and not only the tourist experience around the world when I travel and I speak about Monaco a lot of people know Monaco about the casino about Riviera and for sure about Grascal people don’t imagine how many people work in Monaco I really believe in this country And I’m pretty sure we will continue to grow up, not too fast because it’s not a big country. My goal it’s always to give the most beautiful image of Monaco because this country give me a chance. And when a country give you a chance and this chance make you successful, you have to try to give back in a in a positive way. Work to promote the attractivity. It’s unbelievable, Monaco. In 2 kilometers, you have everything. It’s a paradise really. It’s not very complicated to convince people to come to the event. That’s all for today.
