Looking for a bike for my girlfriend who is 5’2. Found this 49cm trek checkpoint sl5 with 11 speed 105, hydraulic disc brakes, and overall seems to be in pretty good condition. Was able to negotiate it down to $1k USD in soCal which seems like perhaps a fair deal, not sure if it’s a good one. Wondering what you all think?
Also, I haven’t seen a rear thru axle like this one, wondering what the purpose of it is?

Seems like a good deal to me, assuming it fits and the carbon is in good shape. I’m not sure what you mean about the axle though
