Im trying to re.ove a bottom bracket cup and am really unsure of which way the drive side is threaded and which wrench to turn. Can someone decipher this one for me? Bike is a Novara(REI) Randonee from 91maybe?

"To remove a right-threaded fixed cup (French or Italian), tighten the bolt with the socket wrench from the inside of the bottom bracket, holding the nut with the box wrench. Once the bolt is as tight as can be, keep on tightening it, until the cup screws itself out. Once the cup starts to move, turn both wrenches together.

That side is reverse threaded so the idea is if you keep tightening the tool, the cup will loosen. Doesn’t always work.
The likelihood that an REI frame has French or Italian threading is very, very low. Hold the bolt head on the inside with a socket wrench. Tighten the piss out of the nut on the outside. Once you’ve tightened the nut as much as you possibly can, remove the socket wrench holding the bolt head and try to tighten the nut more than you already did (clockwise).
Box wrench on the drive side nut, turn clockwise. The socket inside the BB is just to support the bolt as you tighten so that you can get a good clamp on the BB cup you are trying to remove.
