Bike seems to be in good condition I just ride casually in weekends about 10 -15 miles. In comparison was looming at a new specialized allez but that has claris group set and costs 1400$. I've never had a carbon bike anything to watch for when inspecting it? Is a 2017 105 groupset still superior to a 2025 Clarissa groupset?

Yes 2017 105 is still a noticeably better drivetrain than current Claris. The price is good if it turns out to be a good fit for you and clean condition. Carbon issues show up visually the vast majority of the time so if there is no cracks, flaking or soft spots then you are not missing anything.
