Giant Revolt 2 or Marin Nicasio+ ?

I am naive knows nothing all i know is Nicasio is pretty good for my pocket and Revolt 2 little bit tough.. but i still open to options fully .. provides i get the perfect option for my needs..

My needs –

Gravel and road riding.. mostly i want to backpack touring so consider mountains ans gravel for tough and roads flat usually for local rides.. i am also curious about aluminium and steel choice.. should i REALLY go for aluminium? Or is it not a big diff with steel?
