Couldn’t tell you how much you would have to remove, but if you have a chain tool breaker you can do it yourself. Here is the[ParkTool Guide](https://www.parktool.com/en-us/blog/repair-help/chain-length-sizing) on how to do it. All you need is a chain breaker. The Park Tool is about $50 but you can find cheaper alternatives used or on aliexpress.

Tug together few links to see when its looks better
Shimano itself recommends to measure chain tight on largest sprockets and add 5-6 links extra.
Personally i eyeball it on smallest sprockets and check on largest.
Important note, there is connection pin on that chain, its stands out, other pins are flanged and non reusable. (I almost ruined chain that way not to long ago…)
I also recommend to add a quick link for future service.

the manual from Shimano gives you chain sizing instructions.
You might have enough adjustment on your b-screw to push the derailleur back to take up some slack.

Bad job by mechanic, wasn’t tested once job complete. Take it back for them to complete the job.

Do you have a chain breaker or QL tool. You could pop the quick link, take a link or two out and be good. If your in little- little and you have just a bit of tension and the cages isnt sitting like that your good.
Don’t over think, you dont need shimano manual to do this.
I have out on at least 10,000 chains – I genuinely dont think I’ve ever not done it this way and never have an issues.
If its too much for you – just take it to the shop and be like “fix it please” it will literally take 30 seconds
