I was looking at the specs for the electric on the us.brompton.com site today and noticed for the first time, “Electric Bike Restrictions: Please note that we can no longer sell electric bikes to the state of New York.”
This does not affect current owners of Brompton Electrics but I am dumfounded that Brompton was not more proactive in what is one of their largest marklets in the US and if I’m not mistaken the only state with a Brompton Junction. This development cannot be doing their vendors or current owners who are arguing with their co-op boards any favors.
I’m also left wondering what happens if this legislation spreads to other states. 🤔
