Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Bluesky Threads Can I put another cog set on the other side and make it become a Flip Flop wheel. I am very bad at this Fixed gear stuff but I want a single speed. by CheapCarDriver Bicycling Biking Cycling

nerobro on November 26, 2025 7:13 pm Yes, the other side of your hub is designed for a freewheel. Slap one on, and have fun. To help you in the future, if there’s two threads, it’s a fixed gear side of a hub. If there’s only one thread, it’s a freewheel. If you want to put a fixed gear cog on the freewheel side…. Since you’re asking, DO NOT DO THAT. If you weren’t asking, I’ve seen it done at the velodrome. But I would never run that setup on the street.
