Hi all & thank you in advance.

FYI- all bikes in the country I am living are around 100 dollars more than they would be in USA

I am looking for a new "slow bike", something steel frame to use for commuting and light-touring.

Thus far this is my favorite option since I am used to 90s steel bikes. (I used to own a '95 Trek 720) This person has it set up as a gravel bike – which I'm okay with – will scratch my itch for drop bars. The components are STX and Deore, the back cassette seems to be updated to a 11-34. I also like friction shifters and this one has bar ends, which are typically more expensive. It would make a great commuter and touring bike after raising the handlebar.

My main hold back is the high price for this bike. Do the upgrade justify the price?

  1. It may be too expensive but how would anyone know without being provided the critical piece of information to evaluate? 🤦‍♀️

  2. If it fits well and is something you’d be stoked to ride, send it!

Good solid frame that is sought after in the US for atb builds. Plus, it looks like it has newish tires and if the conversion was done recently and done well, everything should be greased up with new cables, housing, and handlebar tape. All of that can add up quick and so the price seems right if it’s the right rig for you.

  3. I think 350-400 is a good deal, this is slightly expensive. That said, it’s a great bike for what you need it for.
