Actually you were in the wrong because if the bmw was signaling you should have stoped and waited for the bmw to move and cars are allowed to move in to the bike lane when pulling over or turning so neither of them were stereotypical it’s just that your thought of entitlement gave you the idea that you were right but respectfully you should obey traffic laws next time.

I’m not exactly sure where you’re riding but in Arizona it would be the drivers fault if you signal in your vehicle and the cyclist hits you from behind the cyclist is at fault but if you don’t signal and they run into you like they just did the motorist is at fault
