Heidelberg is a city in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, situated on the river Neckar in south-west Germany.

The Hauptstrasse is the central street of Heidelberg’s old town, running the full length of the quarter. Today, it is a pedestrianised zone and popular shopping street.

The Church of the Holy Spirit is the largest church in Heidelberg. The church, located in the marketplace in the old town center, was constructed between 1398 and 1515.

The lower railway starts at Kornmarkt in the old town and runs via the Castle (Schloss) station as far as Molkenkur. From there you can continue with one of the oldest electric funicular railways to the Königstuhl, the town’s highest point at more than 550 metres.
