My research has lead to some limited options on a simple, small, and durable headlamp that easily comes on and off my helmet. Not looking for a bike specific light as those tend to be heavy and more geared towards commuting/trail. I really just need a low lumen, light weight flood light that a climber or caver would use.
Simply something that lights up if I get caught out after dark I can slide on my helmet without a fuss.
So far I have found two options:
1) Fenix ALG mount – best solution so far, the lights that work with this mount just look huge but I like the slide in feature.
2) Petzl Pixa Mount – about the same as the fenix…
Wondering if anyone has found a setup they like on helmet lights beyond these two options with an emphasis on mounting simplicity/durability over lumens?

could a headlamp like the nitecore nu25 work?
I have Fenix mount and use quite high powered Fenix light on it. But I tend to use narrow beam for headlight as bike has wider light.
Mount works well, would recommend two sided tape + zipties for installing to helmet.
Depending on the general form your helmet you could fit any classical headlamp on your helmet with the Petzl Uni Adapt. For my helmet I only had to mount two of those on the front side.
I use a Black Diamond Sprinter for offroad night riding. It‘s on the heavier side, but it has a red rear light, the battery holds up several hours, and you can alternate between bright and dimmed mode by simply holding your hand into the beam.
For superlight emergency headlamp i use a Petzl Bindi
