Looks like long allen key from non drive side to me.
Caveat: I’m not a bike mechanic pro. Just looks super similar to mine.

With a really large socket. This design does use a large Allen wrench, AI is wrong more than its right.

Thanks so much for the help. I’ll grab a 12mm allen wrench tomorrow. Also, that washer-like ring that is there at the opening of the freehub is slightly crooked and looks possibly damaged where the bearings sit. Is that something I can replace if it turns out it is in fact bent?

You can see the splines inside for a hex.
Many unbranded options that use a qr need an 11mm Allen to undo
