  1. This is why I stuck to mountain bike racing. I hit the pavement once real hard, broke my helmet into 3 pieces and slid several yards on the hot pavement tearing my shorts and jersey and most of the skin off of my thigh. Road rash is no joke and it was super painful for about a week.

  2. Cycling needs padded clothing and light body armour in critical body parts.
The amount of nasty injuries some of these guys sustain is horrible. It's on top of the list of sports where the ratio of deaths (considering athlete numbers) is higher.
They have a helmet and for the rest they're as good as naked.
    Something needs to change.

  3. Almeida is super important for UAE. Without him, Team Visma can attack much more easily with Jorgensen and Simon. I don't think Adam, Soler, or Sivakov are strong enough to fend off all of Visma's attacks.

  5. Honestly thought he'd popped a collar bone when I saw him go down , that was a crazy crash on an innocuous part of the road , perhaps someone's concentration slipped and there was a touch of wheels

  6. He's a hard lad. I remember how difficult he was to unseat in his first Giro when in pink. He suffered like a dog to keep the lead. He's been the same ever since.,
