Thanks. Nice looking bikes. Do you notice much difference in comfort between double butted and triple butted tubing?

  2. How’s business?

For real. I feel like the economy in the US is in a downward spiral. More and more I see the steep discounts, crazy sales, and high value items being sold second hand at a bargain. Smell like recession indicators. But, on the other hand, some luxury goods segments are thriving. Is the custom bike market in trouble?

I have two questions — 1.) Where can I send my money? Those are some beautiful whips. Will check out your website to learn more.

2.) What is driving the evolution of geometries (especially in gravel bikes)? I’m seeing bikes with longer top tubes, shorter stems, & potentially higher stack heights (along with minor adjustments in chainstay length and bottom bracket height). Is all of this to accommodate front suspension? As a guy who’s ridden essentially 54cm square bikes forever, some of these “new-fangled” geos look odd to me. What’s the goal?

  4. I’m amazed at how light steel bikes are getting. How do you shave weight off while maintaining structural integrity?

  5. Got any Reynolds 951 laying around that could turned into a 51c sized gravel frame with a slightly sloping top tube and traditional stays?

I like the first build the best! The gold nipples threw it off a bit, and it would be cool if it had integrated cables and a sleek Enve one-piece cockpit.

  7. If I want to run Shimano cranks with a 24mm spindle, can a frame be ordered with a plain old BSA bottom bracket and not T47?

  8. What are your thoughts on chainstay length? MTBs are going longer which gives more stability, and it also gives more space fore tire clearance. However, it seems like gravel bikes still try to keep them as short as possible. It seems like this is kind of a carryover from CX bikes that need to stay nimble in hairpins etc., but gravel tends to have a lot less hard cornering. The trails with hard cornering tend to be better with a hardtail anyways. Do you think there is value for gravel bikes in going longer on the chain stays, or am I missing something?
