On my way home today, I got a flat. I had neglected to top off my tires for a few weeks. "They're tubeless, it'll be alright," I thought. Well, I think the pressure got too low and burped it.
I carry a (Amazon special) co2 inflator, two cartridges and a tube. I managed to get the tube in, looks like there nothing in the tire. I go to inflate, problem. Then go to pull out the inflator and it yanks out the presta core. My multi tool doesn't have a core tool so I can't get it in.
I end up having to do the walk of shame to the bus stop. Luckily my city has a pretty solid, and free, bus network.

No shame in walking to the bus stop. Always good to know the public transportation situation in case things go south.
Thank goodness for the bus. I have to wait and get picked up via car and take off my wheels too. It’s enough of a hassle I’ve debated carrying enough rope to carry the bike frame with the tires off on my back and walk home a few hours just in case. Cause one part of my commute has no where safe to leave my bike for 4+ miles.
Whoaf – sorry.
If you were able to find the core, I’ve been able to get by with finger tight cores in tubes before. I’ve also had the core come out and shoot off into the night sky like a tiny little rocket ship. Very frustrating.
Maybe next time you can lay the bicycle on it’s side so that the beads of the tire can remain in contact with the wheel rim?
I gave up on screw on co2 because of that. But I dumped co2 and got Decent battery pump as the co2 messes with the sealant too much. I carry small bottles of sealant too and a plug kit.
