I want to use this bike to do a few triathlons and maybe an Ironman next year. I know it’s not the best bike for that but I’m wondering if it will do the job ?

$150 – $200
decent pick. should work as for price. 200-300 depending on cost of living.
Yeah, I’m in line with the $150-$250 sorta range. It’s a solid groupset, the frame is decent, it’s a company out of france, they use to sponsor a bunch of french pro teams, not with this bike though. The gearing is quite limited at the rear, but as long as you’re riding mostly flat terrain with maybe a bit of gentle sloping rolling hills, you’ll be fine. The max cassette size on that rear derailleur is probably a 28T. The wheels aren’t the best, they’re just basic shimano r500s, worth about $100 brand-new,but they’ll work and they’re shimano so it’ll be quite reliable.
