Hello, my name is Susan and I’m a 62 year old woman that retired and I sold my house and I’m traveling the world on my bicycle. I hope you will join me for my adventure. Thank you. Good morning. So, I woke up this morning and my decision about whether to go to Pristina or not was made for me by the air quality. It’s really the first time I’ve had an issue with air quality since way back in Spain when they were having the heat wave. Um, but anyway, I uh have asthma, so I used both of my inhalers to the max that I can use them at one time and hopped on my bike and I’m pedaling south toward the border, looking forward to getting back out into the countryside. But I I’ve ridden about 10 miles. Stopped for a traditional uh Kosovoan or Albanian meal. So it looks like this. It’s got these little meat patties that are very tasty. Um and um yeah, so continuing pedaling. I don’t know if I’ll get to North Macedonia today or not. Excuse me for talking with my mouthful. Um, but should get close. I uh there’s a town right before the border and they have an Airbnb or Booking.com place. So, I’ll either stay there or I’ll go all the way to Scopia in North Macedonia. So, or North Macedonia depending on where you’re from. All right, I’ll check in later. So, all along my route, there have been these memorials. So, I thought I would stop and uh film this one, and they’re really sad. You can see the the soldiers there that lost their lives in the war. And, you know, 22, 21, uh 19, 19 years old. Wow. Um, and then you have that was the the name of the UC was uh who they were fighting with. And then this represents Albania. Uh, and so um, most of the people that live here, I guess, are of Albanian descent. And so yeah, I would say there’s one of these every few miles. So many people died and so many young people. It’s very sad. All right. Anyhow, just thought I would stop and share that with you. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Hello. Good afternoon. I made it to Alleshan, Kosovo, which is right at the border with North Macedonia. And um like literally I think I’m less than a half a mile. Um it’s uh just past that uh Shell station over there. Um I when I was coming into town, I could see it. I could see the flag and the customs area. So um anyhow, good uh good ride today. I think I did like 48 miles, 49 miles. And I um just decided to stop early and then tomorrow I’m going to do a short day in to Scopia um which is the capital city of North Macedonia. And um figured instead of doing a long day today and then taking a rest day tomorrow that maybe um maybe doing a short day I’ll feel better. I find that when I take a zero day that it’s it’s hard to get the blood flowing again the next day. Everything feels so hard. So, I’m hoping tomorrow just doing like 12 miles, 13 miles um into the capital city and then I can enjoy being there and play tourist a little bit. Um, so the air quality, it was better this afternoon, but most of the day the air quality was not good. Um, so I don’t know what that was about, but I met a lot of nice people. Everyone was very nice. Um, one place, um, my route had me going one direction and this man chased me down from the, uh, convenience store where I had stopped and said the road was out. No road. No road. So, uh, had to find another way to get here, which actually ended up having less climbing and was a little shorter. So, it’s nice. But, uh, yeah, people here go above and beyond to be nice. I’m really impressed with the people in Kosovo. Um, and that’s all I know. I see this nice nice hotel room. I got a balcony, a nice bed. Um, big screen TV. There I am. I haven’t even looked at the bathroom yet. Oh, yeah. Very nice. So, um, this cost me, I think, €42. Um, so again, not bad. Uh not quite as cheap as the last two nights, but uh still overall, I mean, in the States or other parts of Europe, there’s no telling what you’d pay for this room. So, um that’s all I know. So, I’m going to get cleaned up and go find me some dinner and relax a bit. I’ll check in tomorrow. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. 1. Hi Susan. Just been binge watching and enjoying your videos, the added bits of content regarding local events/history a bonus.
I’ve just finished a six week bike pack in Western Australia with little to no internet/phone coverage, in a motel now, tomorrow packing up and flying home.
    Thanks again for sharing.😊
