Just picked up this beauty for FREE off of Facebook. I have a long haul trucker fork I would love to use on this frame but I’m unsure if it’ll even fit. I had someone tell me it can’t be done but there has to be a way! Also Has a stuck seat post blah blah blah I’ll figure that out.

If theyre both 1“ then u would get away with
a new headset.
I believe the LHT has a 1 1/8″ steerer, while all 700 series bikes were 1″. I seem to remember someone on here or another sub machining a custom headset that would allow for a 1 1/8″ fork steerer in a 1″ head tube. For me, if I was to do that much custom work on a bike, I think I’d rather have a a larger head tube welded in. Surly used to make a model of 1″ steerer canti fork with a set of mid-fork eyelets; I have one on a final year 730. If you wait around, one might come up for sale on eBay.
I don’t believe that will work for reasons already stated. There are options out there. I just picked up 2 frames tonight for 40.00. Might be able to spare with a set of forks.
Second… the back wheel spacing looks crazy wide. How many mm is that?
