Okay, so… Since my last post I have been on a mission to go tubeless with my fat bike. I need the thorn protection + lightweight benefits of the setup. I received my fatty strippers in the mail yesterday. Picked up some orange sealant as well. Spent hours getting it all setup, went to the gas station to use their compressor and well… The bead never locked in. After 20 minutes of soapy water spray and airing it up to the max, IT NEVER POPPED. So I just left it filled hoping that it would maybe pop into place after a quick trip home? Let's just say it definitely popped 😭 20 seconds after putting it back into my car the tire exploded in the back of my Prius. Was kind of bummed at first but then I started to laugh 😂 Cleanup wasn't that bad & I still haven't figured it out but damn I'll be extremely happy when this bead locks in. I think I should build up the center of my rim with foam to get it more level with the bead? I'll try that next. See y'all on the trails soon 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

Ya I’ve moved away from tubeless. If you have thorns to deal with then that’s a good reason and maybe the only reason to go tubeless. I’ve been using TPU tubes for a few years now.
I would check the bead of your tire, sometimes after a bad blowout you can damage the bead
I can feel the pain leaking from this image
That sucks! Did it blow your whole cassette off? 😂
What rims do you have? I’m not expert (currently in progress with mine) but some folks may have advice for those ones.
Wait…..you put sealant in the tyre BEFORE setting the initial bead??
How much pressure did you have on the tire? Seems to me, it expanded more due to temperature increase. You should be able to seat a tire with 20 pounds max pressure. If it’s not, something is restricting the tire from popping into place.
Oh damn ya you’re stuck with tubeless
Why did you put sealant in before you set the bead?
