Hello, I've got some original deore cranks I'd like to run on an Italian Frame (70mm BB). The original shimano spindle for the cranks is 121.5, but for 68BB, so clearance is good but non drive side cup has no room for lock ring. I do have the original spindle for the Italian BB (122mm I think), but the cranks slide on into the frame.
If I'm looking for a new Italian shimano spindle BB, do I need extra length in the spindle to account for the extra 2mm in the spindle race spacing, so space up to maybe 125mm? Thanks in advance

…when mounting the shimano spindle with the ITA cups? would be expected since the bearing races on the BSA axle are at least two millimeters closer together.

probably ISO taper on the axle combined with the FC-DE30 JIS crankset.
just buy a 121/122-ish ITA JIS BB
